Practice and Final Tests; Translation Re-Tests

For grammar, vocabulary, and syntax covered in the textbook, students will be given a Practice Test and then the next day a Final Test.  If students have an A on the Practice Test they may opt out of taking the Final Test.  If they have a B on the Practice, they must take the Final, and if they have a B on both tests, the higher B will count.  In all other situations the Final Test grade counts.

Whenever possible students will be allowed to re-test on Translation tests on which they would like to improve their original score. The re-test must be taken within one week of  the original (unless the student is absent, and then an extension will be given.) The higher of the two scores (original or re-test) will count.

If you make an "A" on the Practice Test, you are exempt from the Final Test!

If you want to try to improve your grade, even though you made an A, you may. Mrs. Hickman will take the higher of the two A’s.

What if I make a "B" or below on the Practice Test?

You are required to take the final test, and that grade counts as the final grade, with one exception.

The Exception…

If you make a "B" on the Practice Test, you must take the Final Test.

If you make a lower "B" on the Final Test than you did on the Practice Test, the higher of the two grades will count.
